1. 43.21 = 4 zolotniks 21 dolyas (parts) = 18 grams of pure silver
2. Exist only one type of edge inscription, see above.
About variants, I's a russian text that I need translation:
a) U koloska sprava odna osti
cool.gif U koloska sprava dve osti
I don't think that the average collector knows the variants of this coin.
Antikvarius
As to the varieties they described in those text, here is the translation:
a. Right ear has one arista
b. Right ear has two aristas
Here are two samples

gxseries
antikvarius, Just to double check, is this one: one arista?

And this one: double arista?

Thanks

Now I know! bhyper.gif
Antikvarius
Yes, the first rouble is with one arista.
As to the cost here is the one that was sold for $385 in UNC - http://www.molotok.ru/item315845608_1_rubl...iya_dorogo.html

Am I crazy lucky for buying that in Moscow for around 10USD shok.gif
Antikvarius
When did you get it? I remember buying it for $10 5 years ago cool.gif
gxseries
That's exactly right Antikvarius! - 5 years ago (or maybe 6). I was there at 2002 but left due to the dangerous atmosphere...

It has been a long time since I left Russia and now I'm sure I can't speak a proper sentence in Russian doh.gif There aren't many Russians here in Australia. sad.gif

Now, the next question is: which variant is common/rare?
Antikvarius
As to the cost it is almost the same. Not too many people know about this difference.
Doomer
the 1924 rouble costs a lot of money these days if such coin is at least in UNC

You can found the 1924 rouble in F, VF or even XF for much less money

IMHO

here is an example - http://www.coins.su/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22291
sold for ~55 USD

both variations - http://www.coins.su/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10727
sold for ~90 USD (for both)

another one - http://www.coins.su/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11690
sold for 31 USD

but the UNC one - http://www.coins.su/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...924&start=0
sold for ~250 USD

That's funny
I found what you talking about, it is probably new protection because I don't remember such protection when I have registered
I think it is a test for knowing Russian language, in this case I cannot help with registering because it will be violating of rules
The banknote what you talking about is 500 rubles, so you need to type "500 rubles" below the picture but you need to type it in Russian
Antikvarius
I can help you with registration, you really have to know Russian to do it pardon.gif
Just send me a personal message to confirm it and what nickname you want to have over there. Later you can change a password by yourself.
tqc2002
Thanks for helping me out!
thanks Antikvarius I'll do that

best regards
TQ
