Click to view attachmentAnother question to the resident experts: is this another fake (metal certainly doesn't look like gold, but it could be gold plated?)
The "diamonds" don't add much to my feeling that it's a fake.

Any opinions, please?

Don't know anything about these, but the monogram certainly looks sloppy, and the knitted rainbow ribbon doesn't inspire much confidence.

What is supposed to be anyway? Just so I can compare to the real thing for my own education.

By the way, is this also from that famous estate sale? I think everything else we've seen so far from it has been fake, so that also wouldn't be a good sign for this.

Steve,
That is the question - what is it? If it's genuine, then it's a girl's broch or something
If not, it's a cheap fake. I just can't fathom that anything worthwhile won't have a stamp or some inscription on the back and the gold paint won't be peeling.
Just my take on it...
STEVE MOULDING
Ah...I see. I really know nothing about orders. I was focused on whether or not it's fake assuming somebody (you or the seller) knew what it actually was supposed to be. I guess we don't even know that. Sorry this is not being very helpful. We'll have to wait for an order-expert to chime in. biggrin.gif

I think it is supposed to be Order of St. Alexander Nevsky. If it was real the price would be in the 6 figures.

i.e. this:

I think we can take it, Esteladus, that this too is fake.

Thanks Igor

There is there very good resource about awards - http://forum-su.com
but unfortunately they have very strict registration procedure (where is no way you can pass it)
You can try to ask your question in common section of this forum (w/o registration) - http://forum-su.com/obschie-i-raznye-temy-vf183.html
Maybe somebody can help you there

Well, it went for 4,171.83 on eBay last week. C'est la vie.

Yeah, but if you look on Q&A it does not seem like genuine :)
I mean if you going to sell such expensive thing you supposed to know at least something about that thing

Maybe the seller does know something about it and that's why he/she was willing to sell a six-figure order for four-figures (i.e. 5% or less of what the real thing would bring in a real auction).
