Interesting, they should have got to you by now

May be best you chase up Royal Mail, it could be a computer error
Royal Mail won't be able to do anything, rang Royal Mint and they said that they hadn't even been posted because of the sheer demand for them.

Well I have to admit a change was needed and from the looks of it they've done an 'okay' job of it. It's different, it's as unconservative design as you could ever get but at the same time the designs are very familiar, the flat/lacking of relief design is very reminiscent of the shield included on the obverse of the Edward III gold nobles, it's just the way that they've gone about it that's different.
I was ready for a change, not entirely sure at this point if I can say I like them though, but nor can I say that I don't. If anything at present i'm bordering on indifference.

Finally got one! Was at a service station the other day at night and walking back to my car I saw a light coloured circle in the flower bed about the size of a 2p, then I noticed it seemed to have an odd offset square on it. Picked it up and sure enough it was a new 2p coin! Clearly someone doesn't like them

People do that over here (especially in East London/South West Essex) quite a bit, 1, 2 & 5p coins get tossed aside by chavs who are too thick to realise that if they saved them up they wouldn't be so worthless
So far 2008 dated I have found:
1p Porticulus (sp)
1p New Design
2p Prince Of Wales Ensign
2p New Design
5p Crowned Scottish Thistle
So much for the old style ones date 2008 not been released in circulation

Yeah.. if you read the description again it was that Royal Mint classic wording which when read implies something, but when read again actually says nothing of the sort
I have two old 1p, a new 1p and a new 2p.

Just received one of the new-style 5p's. Only other 2008s so far have been 1p and 2ps with the old design.

Another complaint that I often hear is the fiddly size of the 5p coin, it is a bit stupid. Why's the penny bigger than the 5p?

Tradition! the copper coinage was always bigger than the silver, because of the relative values of the metals. Now it makes no sense. I don't like the new designs, still I am an old fuddy duddy. Give me cartwheels any day.

Got one today

Also gto a old style 2008 5p, interestingly enough it looks like they hastily scraped out the "7" and plonked in the "8"
EDIT: Unfortunately the scanner doesn't liek the coin so I can't be seen, have to try the old scanner

With regards to the 5p being smaller than the 1p, well it didn't always used to be that way. The 5p, 10p and 50p coins were all much bigger up until the 1990s, when they were all reduced in size, the 5p was the first in 1990 the 50p the last in '97.

In fact i miss the old big 10p's and the florins. Was always nice to get a handful of George VI coins in change. I did once get a .500 silver George V Florin, now that was a good day!

That was only with the switch to decimal coinage & silver had not been used for some time, so was no longer a factor in coin size. The old silver coinage was always small than the copper. The thrupence, tanner, bob were all smaller than a penny, in fact they were even smaller than a ha'penny. The good old 'LSD' before it was a drug.

Was at my Busker friends place and spotted a few 2008 pennies in his jar, old and new style. More interestingly I saw an odd coloured two pence, after a closer inspection it turned out to be a 2004 Olympic loonie! Which was great as I have been after a loonie for ages!

While I was away my mum stuffed all my arranged and laid out coins in a piggy bank, and stuffed some rareish banknotes in there too!
So now.. with less than the cost of the piggy bank inside I now have to break it open

Heh yeah! Crown dependency coins are about the most interesting thing you'll find in circulation here! That and fake pound coins
I always keep any Jersey coins as I have family ties with the Island.
