Yes, you're right, it is a weird place, probably as any other auction. I saw one time a guy bidding and knowing nothing about the coin. He was doing it only because saw other people do it. Because him and some other "experts" the price went up like about 250%

Having specialized in the large coppers I don't see any reason why this normal coin went that high. Sigi

Probably didn't pay attention to the currency unit - it's GBP instead of USD which is a major difference. Twice as much in fact.
