Read description of this auction - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=300205799447 . I especially liked this one:

"Some naive people have pointed out that photography was invented by Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre
in 1826 long after Emperor's death. However, truly educated people know well that all important
inventions were made in Russia at least 100 years prior to their re-invention in the West."

That is true! Everything that has been invented in the past or will be invented in the future was already invented in Russia by Michailo Lomonosov! Of course since he was born in 1711, photography must have been one of his first inventions. I think he invented it right after he invented the flying car... hysterical.gif

This seller has a wonderful sense of humour. In this one listing he is showing up the farce that is e-bay. bhyper.gif

I could understand everything but wondering how old is yamantau - seller of this coin according to his claims. He claims that he saw a photo made in 1728 with Emperor Peter II and old man who sold him the coin. Let's say that the old man on the picture is one year old infant. Than in 1828 he would be 100 years old. If he at that age (100 years old) sold this coin to yamantau and he also was a one year old infant at that time than he must be 180 years old now! hysterical.gif hysterical.gif

I think you folks are reading this far too literally. This guy is clearly joking; it's a (not so thinly) veiled poke at the claims that were often made, especially during soviet times, regarding every invention known to man (including the wheel) and how it was actually invented by a russian many years earlier.

It's still funny, but perhaps for a different reason.

Of course the whole thing is a hoax!!! laugh.gif

However, what I would like to know is: what happens to the high bidder? Is there a high bidder or are the bids a hoax as well?
