Please take a look at this coin and provide any information you can, ie: name/kind, year (unmarked), value (equivalent to an ounce of silver, I suppose). Obviously, I am a beginner in the world of coin collecting and have a lot to learn but I am hoping all here will assist me in the learning process. I have numerous coins and am now researching them. I will be posting them in my collection, as time permits, on the Omni site. Thanks for your help.

That is what's commonly called a silver round. It's a one troy ounce .999fine silver coin. The other type is called an ingot or bar and those are rectangular in shape. Your coin is worth the current silver spot price for an ounce of silver.

Welcome to CoinPeople. Don't worry about things you don't know. Some of us have been collecting since the 1950s and still have tons of things we don't know.

On many subjects, I don't even suspect anything. ;-)
