Hi,

Is there something strange about the way this portrait looks, or am I being paranoid again? Something about the shape of the beard and the cut of the neck?

You're not being paranoid ... you just have good eyes! biggrin.gif

There are two obverse die varieties for the 1914 poltina: flat strike, with narrow rim, and embossed strike with wider rim. Here are both of mine:

The first link also has some detail pictures with some identifying characteristics.

Thanks Bobh!!!

I don't have a 1914 so I was actually comparing it to your avatar smile.gif

It's a 1914, isn't it?
