I'll take that small crate off your hands for you. $50 bucks sound fair? I only offer because I know how hard it is to find space for everything wink.gif

I can't see the photos, but I would guess 117!
slowly but surely
Clearly, there are 302 slabs total.
LostDutchman
man i love impromptu cointest
thedeadpoint
stop guessing everyone! I haven't had time to make a guess yet! Wait about 10 hours or so then you can guess!
numismatic nut
200.

My guess is you are a coin dealer with a coin store in Indiana and you are using coin forums for a free advertisement. I wonder why all dealers don't do that? I noticed on some forums self advertising is a no no. Obviously not here.
Brett
When does the contest end? I'm still trying to decide on a number
bahabully
I say 600 - combined.
200 in small
400 in large
henare
i'll say 575 in both bins.
belg_jos
I'm quite sure there are at least 3 in there. 1 in the small box, and 2 in the big one.

At least!

Do you see this like an advertisement? I believe that LostDutchman isn't a member here to advertise his bussiness, he spent too much time here so you cannot say that.

I agree, he most definitely is not and I can vouch for that. he offers his experience and knowledge all the time! He's a very helpful member of this community, and has provided much insight into coin collecting. He has taught me a lot about errors, and coin grading and has never reacted in a negative manner when I have messaged him for help on something. And I've asked him a lot of questions! And, as an aside to LostDutchman, I must say, you should plan on having plenty more questions coming your way!!

#1 lets end this cointest on Friday and the prize will be an NGC PF66 graded 1957 franklin half dollar. closest plus or minus wins...

#2 Yes, I am in business to sell coins. That is what I do for a living. I do sell coins here. I have sold coins to many many members of this board... But I am not here for solely that purpose. I have always believed in giving back to the hobby that has given to me. If I can help someone with my knowledge and insight I will surely do just that. And I have also made quite a few friends and contacts from this wonderful board as well. If this post came across as self promoting or something along those lines I do apologize, it wasn't my intention. I honestly was just blown away by this huge pile of slabs and wanted to take a few pictures of it to share.

My guess is

135 in the small bin
290 in the large bin

425 total!
BigCanadianM
I hope I'm right!!! blink.gif
Hussulo
125 coins in the small box
344 coins in the big one.

469 Total. bleh.gif grin.gif

Great contest and along with the others I agree LD is a great guy and always goes out his way to help others. If he were to leave (advertising or not) it would be a HUGE loss to the forum.
I have bought coins from him in the past and he is a very trustworthy dealer. clapping.gif

P.S. If I win I will be giving the coin to my nephew who has recently got into coin collecting.

Since the competition is official, my official answer will be 375
bill
I will say 341 total.

By the way, I have never purchased anything from the Dutchman (my collecting interests don't overlap his emphasis), but I always read his posts and enjoy the coins he shares.

Thank you for all you share with the board and thank you for giving the members many opportunities to acquire good coins at good prices from a trusted dealer. That too is an important part of collecting.

Come here.

Post the guess.

I'll echo the other responses here. Yes, Matt is a coin dealer. So what? He posts coins that many would not otherwise have the chance to see AND shares info on them. I personally hope that Matt continues to post his interesting buys and further hope he generates some business from it. Kudos to you Matt, keep 'em coming.

Lets go with my birthdate 5/17, so I will say 517

I still haven't seen the photos, and my last guess was for the smaller box (at least from what I have been reading there are more than one box), so for the total, I will add 369 to my first guess of 117 and voila! 486 total. My final answer...
LostDutchman
