I do have 5 kopeks copper coin(expect to be Catherine I or Peter II) from the year 1727. (Naberezhnye Moskova)
I'm not sure if this is irregular coin, since it should have year number 1727, but it has 727. (It's in good shape. It looks like the number 1 infront of the 727 has not
lapsed away.)
Is there any way to make sure that this coin is not fake? I have kept this coin already 20 years. What would be the value for this coin.
Picture of the coin is attached here. I would appreciate if some specialist would take a look of it. Thank you.
The mintmark of your coin appears to be "НД" to me (not "КД"). There are at least six different eagle varieties for this variety according to Brekke. I believe it is Brekke 25, one of the more common varieties, because the circle around the eagle is a line and not a series of dots. However, it is hard to tell just by looking at pictures. As to the "missing 1" in the date, this is probably the result of a weak strike or else a filled die. Maybe Bitkin (or other references) will have more varieties, but I cannot easily consult that reference at the moment. I am sure that others will have more to say about this one. Of course, I am no expert, and this is just my own opinion.

As to price, the 1987 Brekke supplement lists US-$40 (at that time for coins in VF condition), so today it might be worth as much as $100 ... probably not more, however.
