The whole idea behind this question is if you walked into a coin store and saw an 08 Unc ASE, what is the maximum you would be willing to pay for this? What got me wondering was when I saw that the US Mint is charging $22.00. I know there is people who will buy it, but I wanted to see this communities idea on what the true value of an ASE is. It doesn't matter what the red book says, or the mint, it's what people are willing to pay. This got me curious.

Slightly more than bullion, but that's it. Me I'd wouldn't buy one. Same my $$$ and buy a old coin with some history. Saw a beauty of a 1876-CC Quarter in PCGS F-12 yesterday. Could had it for maybe $65, wish I bought it.
Getting OT, sorry ,but I'm looking to get rid of many Modern proofs, proof silver eagles and such that I bought. Check the sell boards ina few days.

The US Mint Silver Eagles - UNC are struck on burnished (special finish) planchettes and have the W mint mark. The normal "circulation/buillon" ASEs are struck at Philidelphia and have only a normal silver planchette. I'd pay buillion plus a small premium for an extremely nice piece.
With silver over $16.00, I'm planning to pay about $18 to $19 for my 2008 ASE. But for that price I get to hand pick the coin from several "green monsters".

I was at the Flea Market coin place today and she wanted $25 for the '08 ASE. I'd probably go $18.

Wow, she must've been dillusional. you know she probably bought a single from the mint for 21.95 and is just reselling. that would make me sad.

Based on current spot, $350 for a roll.

I said $23 dollars, but that seems kind of high as I didn't even want the 2007 proof from the US Mint for $29.99. Although from previous posts these seem to fluctuate more with price so it may be worth it. I am still considering in the back of my head if I would want to order one of the last 2007 uncirculated Silver Eagles not that the design has been slightly changed or 2008.
