OOOOoo, ASE and Panda are tied. I'll be excited to see the results tomorrow.
[update]: I like giving the play by play, as I made this message someone voted for ASE, this puts the ASE ahead by 17%. You can literally feel the tension in the room, who will walk away with this win? We'll see tomorrow.

Sure! Just remember, especially with the pandas that there is much more artwork out there but I'll post what I can find.

Try not to go based solely off of these images. I just grabbed what google could find. So there may be some unfair representation.

They're all beautiful but I went with the ASE. I've always loved Liberty Walking Halfs -- used to get them in change as a kid. I wish we had more classic Liberty type designs on our coins.

Before I can vote I have to ask, "Which one can I get for the least premium over melt?". Bullion is bullion.

I went with the Walking Liberty, maybe it's because I am a little prejudice or that I was considering a 2007 Silver Eagle Proof. Maybe I can be convinced to get a uncirculated 2007 coin before they go away.

So very true.
However, I like the Maple Leaf. Just looks so clean and purdy!

However I need a ASE first for the type set.

I think that it would be a toss up for me beacuse they are both beautiful.
If I had to pick one I would have to say American Eagles.

But Canada tones really cool

Personally I am not a big fan of royalty on coinage so I went with the ASE, but my favorite design has to be the Mexican onza/Libertad, that's a gorgeous design! Lettered edge extra thick from 1982-89, reeded edge from 1990 on, and redesigned to reduce thickness and increase diameter to be the same as the ASE from 1996 on. Here is an image of the first type:

For me, I would go with ASE overall, SML (reverse) if it's just one side.
Pandas IMO aren't really a bullion coin, but rather a pricey coin that happens to be made in specific weights.

I have to say I'm very surprised at the result, and it makes me happy to know that I mainly own ASEs! I would like to see more votes just to see if the landslide continues. Does anyone have any other coins that they think would be a good contender in this category, like the libertad?

I had to go with the Maple leaf. I don't like the lack of imagination evident when you rehash designs. The Walker was great, but this is now. The pandas are cute but they don't represent anything and I do like allegory.

Actually, of the ASE's I own, I have never taken them from from their capsules and actually held them in my hand.
It was when I got my first Morgan Dollar that I learned to like real silver. The beauty, the history, and the weight of the coin in my hand made me feel like I had real money.
For me it is a toss up... used Morgans or shiny mint proof ASE's.... hmmm.... don't think I can truly say which is my favorite.

Well, people who prefer "the European Way" will soon have an alternative.

As far as I know, the Austrian Mint will present a "Silver Phil" at the World Money Fair next month. That would be a 1 oz silver coin, designed like the gold Vienna Philharmonic pieces.

This is the gold piece which has been issued since 1989. Well, imagine that design in silver ...

A country which historically has produced some very lovely coinage cannot do any better than re-hashing a design used on the gold?

The Austrian Mint is not exactly known for "modern" designs

but I don't think they are that "backward oriented". As for when the coin will actually be available, and what the design will actually be like - well, we will see. But the Philharmonic bullion pieces are very well known ...

Dull but not bullion either, I'm afraid. (Should not be hard to get it cheap though.

) In fact, this Austrian piece will be the first silver bullion euro coin. And I just read that the bank which announced the Silver Phil ahead of time may have violated some NDA, hehe.

I'm giving a "shout out" for the Canadian maple leaf the only one I own but I think it's a great coin.

Oh my oh my, that Brit is a beauty. I might even be tempted to trade in one of my 2007 proof silver eagles for one of those.
I guess until you see all the coins that are out there yet to see, it is impossible to say which one is the nicest, prettiest, most handsome, most artistic, and has the best quality of minting results.
Yes, there are a lot of cute coins... pandas for one... but they don't tug at my heart like the Morgans and ASE's. (and now that 97 & 99 brit coin you showed us)...where will it all end!

Agreed, those Britannia designs are very nice. Well, the 2003 piece is quite different - also a good design too but it does not really fit in well. The others are tempting ... also because it's always the same theme but in many different styles. If I collected silver bullion coins, I would probably get those. But I don't.
