When I began collecting, I thought I would get something old. So, I bought some wire money. The "fish scales" were oddly shaped and did not contain the entire design. The "wires" were an interesting and short diversion. But years later, I looked into them again and searched for a novodel. They existed and I got one. This little "coin" came with a notation of the previous sales it was in. Two hand changes and now its mine.

The idea of putting my coins in slabs with the phrase "EX - Immortal" in the description is almost irresistable.

I was just asking about wire novodels! There were 2 slabed wire novodels on ebay for sale at about 800-1000 US, saw them again yesterday. Do you know of any reference that would describe wire novodels?

Hello,

I have two references on wire money;

Russian Coins from Ivan the terrible to Peter I by Melinikova
and
Determining the observe of Wire money of Peter Alexivich by Kleshinov and Grishin
both in Russian so my translation is really rough.

These books have many pictures and the first has a wall chart

I have nothing on Novodels specifically. Just a good coin from a trusted source, Rusty Penny

I've got the same 2 books:) I am waiting to receive the Mikhail Fedorovich catalog (Kleshinov&Grishin)

You certainly have a fine and interesting collection!
