Damh my work, not content with giving me Guernsey coins last week, I get a Isle of Man pound coin today and this....

The coin has been flipped as normal for this photo, and not rotated in anyway.

Must be a Monday morning mint (you know how lazy these crooks are!) biggrin.gif

I've got a few fake £1 coins, never seen any other denominations though I imagine the 50p isn't worth the trouble and the bi-metallic £2 is too hard!

Far out!

Looks quite fake from the photo. Is there still a large operation in counterfeit 1 pound coins.
YeOldeCollector
It is still large but not as large as it used to be, read this: http://dig4coins.com/News/1-latest_news/13...ound-coins.html

Very fascinating. I've never seen a counterfeit coin in person. Never figured it was worth the trouble to counterfeit for such a small profit margin. Thanks for sharing.

I just don't get why people would even make a fake of these.

Profit margins are pretty large...
