Now that is a really nice Lincoln error. Congrats!
Do I see doubling on some of the letters?
Does this coin have a special classification number?

the doubling you see is prob just from the distortion from striking over a struck coin. there isnt really any number for the coin... it basically wasn't ejected from the striking chamber and another planchet was not fed in... then struck again.

I agree Matt but that sure is an odd looking coin I don't think I have ever seen one like that.

I think the kind of cool thing about it, is that it seems to have circulated a bit, even with as dramatic an error as this. Also it shows a lot of the original strike, which is unusual.

That is very unusual. I bet it cost you a pretty penny though.

Fantastic coin.
You have it oriented with the first strike - right?
LostDutchman

it is oriented on the second strike... the first strike is the weaker of the 2 as it would have been smashed by the second.

Ahh ok, I see it more clearly now. The 'Lib' of the first strike got nailed completely by the second. It's surprising that the second strike date is so flat. Really cool coin - you going to hang on to it? heheheh
