1898 and 1899 are fairly common dates. Nice BU (i.e. MS-65 or better) 5 rouble coins should bring around $150 - $180 today, the 10 roubles maybe twice that much. Used to be that anything in less than XF would bring approx. the gold melt value, but prices have gone up since then. People are paying up to $100 for 5 rouble coins in just about any condition; just 2 years ago you could get really nice ones for $60 - $70 each. Of course, the rise in gold prices is accountable for much of the general price hike.

Common date Nicholas II 5 & 10 roubles coins seem to show up certified on ebay fairly frequently. Searching through completed listings and averaging results might prove helpful.

I just realized that with gold at $840/oz., a 5 rouble gold coin weighing 4.3g has approx. $100 worth of gold in it!
