I have no idea what they are, at all.

But I have a feeling they may be Jewish medallions, for some commemoration. The language is Hebrew. I'm sure someone will come around that can be a whole lot more helpful than I've been.

I think you are correct Kitty, the language deffinatly looks to be Hebrew and I doubt very much if they are coins, dont see any value and the second I have to say looks rather crude grin.gif

While these pieces bear Hebrew on them, I believe they are made in Israel for the Christian market, notice that the figure on there bears a strong resemblance to the common portraiture of Jesus Christ. These would likely be sold with some translation attached to a card etc. and sold to tourists, probably in Jerusalem.

Hello,
I am an Israeli and a native Hebrew speaker and I can't seem to understand the inscription. Still the observation made before, i.e. that this is a medal with a Christian theme should be correct. In general the letters are highly stylized and many of them are not readable but certainly the first one is the Hebrew word for Messiah and also Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) and Aram can be identified. My guess is that the inscription was made by someone who doesn't understand Hebrew at all who copied it from somewhere or alternatively used some kind of a dictionary to transliterate words.
If any of you know a quote from the New Testament which have these three words it might be a way to a solution...
Hope that helped a bit...

Thank you DeOrc for your welcome words.
I have been reading your comments for a long time now and enjoyed them very much. I also drooled over your OmniCoin collection for some time - again, with much pleasure.

Thank you, I can read a little bit of Hebrew and they definitely made no sense to me. This is what makes me believe they were made for people with little or no knowledge of real Hebrew.
