Okay...I am looking to maybe collect some links or contact information for people or stores that sell a lot of notgeld. Althought I dont share the hatred some have for ebay, I hate the snipers and other users there. I just want to purchase the dang coin...I get no thrill out of outbidding and I hate losing a coin at the last second after looking at it for 6 days. A real auction is not the same as ebay so someone can never steal it without me having a change to counter bid...the time limit, third party snipers, kinda ruins it for me. I like to just buy what I want...I like a chance to haggle for a deal...

So what I am asking is for anyone who might know of places that have a good variety of notgeld to post it here...coins not bills...the bills are everywhere and I know several places already that sell them in bulk. I find a seller here or there that have a small variety sometimes but on the whole the coins are difficult to find in the US.

In fact I just went to a coin show in Houston where 2/3 of the show was dedicated to US coins...1/3 to the HUGE catagories of world and ancient...and one dealer there had a few notgeld in a folder he bought off someone...AND he didnt even have it out....I learned from ANOTHER dealer that this guy had them, I asked and he had the folder sitting behind him in a stack (as to not get in the way of the other stuff I assume). The coin shops I go to dont have any... ever...vcoins has a tiny amount....but on the whole, they are just not easy to find when you are looking for spefic types.
So if you know someone let me know, you will be sending the person a steady customer.

If you have patience until March 2008 I can buy some notmunze for you at Numismata Munich. If you have the Funck catalogue you can make a want list. I have that catalogue.

This is a general listing of what I am looking for. I am not sure how much this would run you...I know in the Lamb catalog it would be very cheap as each one is listed no more than .20 to .50 cents (a few more than a dollar) but that is decades out of date. I know prices are higher these days and I am not sure how available each of these are...

I will print your list, and I will search for them. In my collection I have only one from these: the "Man with coins" Grafrath 10 pf.

Sounds good, some of those, the price is about 1,000X more expensive than they were when my price guide was printed, I wont bother comparing but for instance Danzig free state is listed in my price guide at 10.00 and the Dobern is listed as 2.50, of course they were already 10x more expensive than most of the others at the time Well, I hope the trend continues for the next 30 years after I get my hands on them. Probably any that are so high as 800 I wont be able to afford but most of the others are doable. Also, if I purchase any before now and then I will cross them off the list buy turning them red. Now I can see how much I am paying in compared to any set worth. I need an updated catalogue than the lamb... it has all the coins but prices are so out of date.

I also have the Wolfgang Hasselmann's catalogue "Die privaten deutschen Notmunzen" 2000 but that 1 mark Bielefeld isn't listed there either...
Maybe a sample of this Ersatznarke wasn't sent to the Reichswirtscahftsmuseum in Leipzig (only the private notgeld whose samples were sent there were approved to be accepted by Reichsbankfiliale to be changed into currency later.

I found the Wildman Thale coin on sale...put a bid of 15 USD on it...check out the price its up to now:

that coin sold for 68 dollars. Now I have found this coin Thale-Harz with wildman standing and wotan on the other side. My book says this type is bronze...he is saying this ones silver or white metal (could be alum or zinc?)...These seem to be a different type listed in the back away from the standard issues with a variety of reverses (cat, wildman horse and rider) with the same wotan on the other side, there are none listed like this type in my book in white metal...what would its worth be roughly do you know?

hmmm...now that I have seen your pages there seem to be two coins like this, one in bronze for about 90...the one this guy is selling is the 6 mk zinc version 537.20? I assume which would make it worth 400...marks or dollars? If its dollars, that guy either just bought a fake or got a REAL GOOD DEAL.

I tend to think that it was a good deal.
The prices listed in catalogue are in German Marks, but what I saw, today's prices are in some cases higher in euro...
