Why do you think it's real?

cos My dad used to buy antiques when we used to live in uk .
He also told me here is this coin I know u r hard up if you sell it you should make a little money.

I also been looking on net for similar coins and they look exactly like the one I have.

The obverse and reverse dies appear normal for an 1842 half imperial. The bulged areas
on the two sides are perhaps soldering and this piece might have been in some sort of
jewelry, which lessens its value considerably.
