Hello all...

My father-in-law found this coin (pics attd) here in Moscow, and has no idea what it's about. Since numismatic sites in Russia are a bit funky, I promised him that I'd inquire on an "international" forum.

I appreciate any comments, since although my dad and grandma dabbled in numismatics, I myself possess very little understanding of the subject.

All I can gather is that this coin is German or Prussian, and is in relatively sad shape. As far as I can glean, based on the pressing technique, that is coin is no newer than the 1800s.

Again, anything you, wiser, people can tell me will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Respectable DawsonsLV,

You speak with some certainty... although it's weird that a Brandenburg coin of that era could be found on a dirt path in Russia in 2005. Thanks a lot for your reply... I love puzzles! smile.gif
