Eritrea not Ethiopia, did you checked the weight LD? I think the rim should be "wider"...

..., not of the ordinary at all, but there are very deceptive copies of the type and i honestly don't like:
- the open "O" in "UMBERTO"
- the "E" on "RE"
- the "L" on "ITALIA"
- the star on the kings collar

...but by all means, i'm not a specialist, you may check the diameter as well: 40.5 mm

I don't say this many times, but i would have that coin slabbed.

I would love to have a coin of that type, no comment on this example as it was said above...very little wear on the coin...exellent example...save those letters... smile.gif. Ethiopia was made a colony of Italy under Vittorio Emanuele III, not Umberto...Vittorio Emanuele III was made Emperor of Ethiopia for about 7 years on the eviction of The Emperor Haile Selassie by Italian forces under Marshal Pietro Badoglio first Viceroy of Ethiopia and "Duke of Addis Ababa"under Benito Mussolini. In fact Badoglio took Haile Selassie's throne as a "war trophy" and used it as a couch for his dog.

So Italy was a part of a short lived Italian Empire after the Italian army and airforce made short work of the vastly out gunned (in fact many ethiopians were using spears) Ethiopian forces.

here is one that sold for almost 1000 USD
