So sitting here at the shop yesterday my lovely wife to be was digging through one of our various junk boxes looking for coins for her type set... she asked me "hunny what is the date on this one?".... my jaw hit the floor.... im packing the coin up for anacs right now
here is what she handed me...

well they only made 1856, 1857, and 1858... the 57 and 8 are common but the 56 in this condition is still a couple thousand dollar coin

the only thing it could be is a 1856 which s the frst year they made these. only 2000 made and worth 6,500 in g-4 ths is like finding 4 1909s vdb in ms63!!!!

I'm actually speechless.
This is probably one of the top reasons I appreciate collecting coins: finding treasures among pocket change and junk bins.

The question that begs to be asked here, is how, how, how, did that managed to get by you and into one of your junk boxes without being noticed prior?
Since the Mrs. to be has a good eye, me thinks it should be for her too.

howd that get in the junk box??? its simple... i buy so many stinking coins.. there isnt enough time in the day to go through everything... and the future mrs. is getting a seated dollar out of the deal for having such good eyes

haha no 95's... but i did find a 93 proof morgan on my desk.... i knew i had it... but wasn't exactly sure where it was hahaha if that gives you an idea of what me desk looks like
