I love these coins. Yours is lovely. When I inherit millions of dollars from my rich uncle, I will have a complete collection. Something about coins from this period --1820's thru 1850's-- really appeals to me. Something about the style of engraving, the images etc.
Okay, I don't have a rich uncle.

I would imagine that it being of a more utilitarian denomination, ie lower value, it wasn't sent to the bankers in NYC but resided in California for circulation there? Dang that would look good in my SF collection. I was born a few blocks from the new ie 1937 era mint.
