Greetings,
Hadn't noticed before but I did now! The US mint is selling uncirc eagles online. When did this start? Just curious.

If there is a thread already please just link me there. I searched and found nothing.

Thanks.

Ciao,

I think they started it last year with the first W-mint uncs. I don't think they sell plain uncs on line though.

Which is a good thing, because I sure wouldn't pay their price.

The Mint site sells Uncirculated Eagles on their site but not the Uncirculated Buffalo gold.

They don't sell business strike eagles do that? Like no mintmark uncs?

The unc Eagles sold by the mint have the W mint mark.

Just another way to turn a buck. I'm surprised their bullion dealers aren't making a fuss.

These have been branded by the mint as "collectible" versions of the bullion coins. The difference is that they carry the "W" mint mark and are struck on burnished blanks.
