Nice medals. I've never seen them before so I have no info to share.

Some of the dates ring a bell here, so to say. Let's go through the inscriptions first:

Ingehuldigd (can mean "crowned" but also "inaugurated", depending on the context)
XXVIII (28.)
NOV. (November)
MDCCCXI (1811)

Willem II Koning der Nederlanden
Willem/William II King of the Netherlands

1572 - 1872

Dageraad onzer vrijheid
Dawn of our freedom
1 April 1572
see below

Willem D.G.G. Prins van Oranje Nassau
William by the grace of God G(?) Prince of Oranje-Nassau

Souvereign Vorst der Vereenigde Nederlanden
Sovereign Prince of the United Netherlands

Gehuldigd te Amsterdam MDCCCXIV
Crowned in Amsterdam 1814

1572 was when the (then Spanish) city of Brielle was captured by Dutch rebels. That event, on 1 April 1572, was a turning point in the Eighty Years War, as from that time more and more cities supported William of Orange against the Spanish.

On 30 March 1814 Willem became "Sovereign Prince" of the United Netherlands (which is basically today's Benelux). One year later he proclaimed that he would now have the title of a King (Willem I).
