A lovely Cartwheele twopence there, if flawed - was it defaced at the time or later?
Could the reverse of the Commonwealth one be clearer?

It was defaced at the time, not 100% sure why as the only other defaced ones that I have or have had, have had numbers and names on to advertise a company. This one is just a simple cross as if to mark it out of circulation.
I'm unsure as to what commonwealth coin you are referring to...
