Neat piece of Edward VI's first "fine" ie sterling coinage. Before that his first pieces were of the coppernose variety that Pop's (Henry VIII)favoured ie debased to the point of being billon. I had a nice one similar to yours, but alas I sold it and wisht I hadn't.

I fell in love with the coin on the Bay and couldn't resist a bargain bid!! Nice coin, cheap to due to the minor creases that detract in no way from the coin.

Quite an expensive bender some bloke gave to a lassie, to hae it cast away for naught. hysterical.gif

the portrait is outstanding.

A young King, with a superb portrait. Ironic that such a small monarch had such a big coin lol, about 32mm in diameter.

Also had great Crown coins, which were among the first dated coins in England in 1551, though they were dated in Roman numerals I believe.
