Is your surname Orc?
This is my only John that isn't a half, whole Johns and Richards I are quite scarce luckily I got the opportunity to buy this cheaply from a good friend.

A beauty! I'm jealous. Class 5b? The only examples I've encountered have been beyond my means, so I have to do with

I would be happy with that it's not in too bad a condition

I suppose! Considering it was probably in use for a long time! Clive. I have numerous halves and quarters that give me as much pleasure - at least you know they have been used, and conjecture as to what purpose could give you nightmares!!!

It is indeed 5b, not a bad example yourself! Halves are a great method of collecting, got my William I Cut half today!!

Henry II is as far back (in Norman terms) that I go. I concentrate on Plantagenet - although different numismatic authorities list different kings in this category i.e splitting Henry II toJohn as Angevin. Henry III to Richard II as Plantagenet ( although Richard III claimed to be a Plantagenet)

I know what you mean, it gets very confusing!! Personally I go with William I - Matilda = Normans Henry II - Richard II = Plantagenet
So on and so forth hehehe
I tend to focus on Early Anglo-Saxon coinage to Richard II. It covers a load of monarchs but it keeps me busy!
Recently got an Offa and Harold I. Plus the odd styca.

I have a few Celtic, Roman and Saxon (you know what we numismatists are like - can't resist a nice coin!) But my Plantagenet are the bulk of my collection with Edward I hogging the bulk of the coin cabinet! Oh! yes! there are a few hundred Commem modern and foreign! Just can't stop!

Coin collecting is not a hobby but an addiction!
My bulk is Henry III Longcross, like your Edward mint run I am going for a mint run of Henry L-Xs!

If you're after the different moneyers too, that's a lot of coins!!!

That would take me centuries and empty all possible bank accounts of mine lol
I'm just going for every mint, even quarters and halves. Hopefully, over time, I can improve all of them to EF wholes.
Over half-way there!
