James I Shilling, superb reverse. Shame about the clipping, an unusual die rotation that has caused the coin to appear rectangular on its obverse!! Spink 2669.

Again another lovely coin, bit more wear on the head with this one biggrin.gif It was thought that a monarchs touch would cure illness and was also lucky, so as most people never got a chance to touch the King or Queen of the day they would rub the effirgy on the coin instead biggrin.gif

Thanks for that neighbour! Another bit of knowledge for me to remember, will come in handy.

This was a lucky find in a collection I purchased, will continue to list hammereds throughout the week.
