Recieved a 2004 1 Rupee the other day and one side has tape glue across it, how can I remove this without damaging the coin?

A quick dip in acetone should help. Be sure to rinse in distilled water, afterwards.

If you use the brush, you can try dynamite too.

And remember to polish it heavily!

Little bit of goo gone should do the trick. But if it is really old glue it might take several attemps. I bought a Morgan from a junk bin that had tape on it that must have been there since Methusala was a pup. Took 5 applications before it would loosen enough to remove without disturbing the metal on the coin.
