I was just wondering what others here thought about PCI the grading company. I have a lg number of coins in my collection graded by PCI and have been a customer of them for over 12 years. The two things I en-joy about them most is the grading standards are very good and they are a collector friendly company. Collectors can submit coins to them with out having to go through a coin dealer and they will grade clean or damage coins in a red label holder. The PCI Signature Series also looks very cool.

Older slabs (Green label ten digit serial number.) seem pretty good, newer slabs unsure.gif probably over graded.

Last year on a bet I opened 10 of my PCI Slabs (all recent submits of the last 2 years or so) and resubmited them to PGCS (The so called best)

7 came came back with the same grade, 1 came back graded MS-63 and PCI graded it MS-62 and another came back as MS-65 and PCI graded it MS-63

The Last one came back a 1883 with cents Liberty Nickel graded AU-55 and PCI had MS-60

All together it was very close and I won the bet 50 dollars plus all grading fees biggrin.gif

Do you remember what colors used around the labels the slabs were? Or the serial number length on any of them. (Just wondering.)

I was hoping for a little more discussion here.
