hey gang! I picked up a pretty good sized world coin deal this morning. there is quite a bit of stuff in it.. I was digging through it when I found this guy...

hehe, beat me to it! I love local issues though, some of my favorites from my period are siege coins. It just depended on whether the city had an operating mint and whether any decent engravers got caught inside for coins to go the gamut. This has a folksy art look to it that makes you think that while they may have had equipment someone got pressed into being the engraver... smile.gif

the coin is very crude..... most of the letters and design has been recut...

Even though the design is quite basic, it is very neat. I like it.
