Last week I was in Germany on a US military base where pennies aren't used - probably due to the cost of shipping them. I was even approached by a German about copper pennies since they buy bulk US coins which are smelted in Mexico (that was his story). He stated "their buyer" was in Texas and they bought both coppers and silver in bulk.
But my question to other is...what the heck do you folks do with the 50th roll of 1958-D (or other common date wheaties)? Put them on E-Bay as unsearched???

Currently about 25 mixed rolls are sitting in a pencil box on my computer desk, what I will probably do is hold onto them until I get tired of looking at them. Then take them to a coin dealer and get $0.02 each....unless copper jumps above that....then maybe Mexico?

I hand them out. My nephew, nieces, etc. (I'm hanging on to a few rolls for when my grandkids get older.)

My local coin shop pays 2 cents each for common wheaties.

I use to have a guy call me from an auction company whenever he got coins in. i use to buy wheat rolls for a $1. He hated dealing with them. The biggest amount of rolls i got off of him at one time was 93. And i still haven't gotten to go through them all yet. I have about 15,000 waiting for me to go through them. Hopefully i will this winter

They get lovingly placed in a coffee can (can #7) because, you just know I will have a need for 900 or so wheat pennies one of these days.

Actually it is pretty inexpensive to ship 5,000 wheaties. All you need is a flat rate box from the postal service. So for around $9 you can ship as much as you can in a flat rate box. Just tape the hell out of the box after you fill it

I am not quite convinced they will fit in a flat rate box. I may try it, because if they will I will sell them for 3¢ eaches, or $150.00 for the whole lot. I also have literally thousands, maybe 6000 British coins all predecimal that I would like to get rid of similarly, but they weigh about 95 lbs.

Old British pennies used to go for less than 10¢ each, but that was before copper started rising. Now I could probably scrap them out for more.

All of them are for sale. Only problem with them is currently they are kind of out of the way, buried that is. Will have to dig literally to get them. Don't ask why

5,000 will for sure fit in a flat rate box. I know, I did it. Why not do as I did with all my extras. have YN giveaways. I had 25 of them some time ago. I sent out many, many coins I no longer wanted to YN's all ovet the country. I recently sent another pile to one of them in another state. Pending on how much you want to get rid of them, do the same thing. It is not that expensive and you will be making a little kid have a fantastic Christmas, Birthday or just a back to school present.
If your getting a little old like me it is basically time to have some others carry on and you too could be the one to make that happen. Try it. Only pennies to loose. I thought it made good CENTS.

My kids are frankly through with the wheats in the box, they each went through them thoroughly for their Whitmans. I really see no point in having them now. Along with the 400+ Indians I have accumulated.

Like I suggested. Post a giveaway for YN's only. Possibly split them up between 2 or 3 or 4 kids. Only a few dollars in postage to make a kid happy.
