The seller does not seem to know it's not supposed to be silver.

Obviously it's not platinum when it is supposed to be. Should send a report to ebay soon.

Ebay makes reporting these next to impossible if you use their regular form, so use this:

The "thing" from eBay is a slap in a face to anybody who has spend any time even looking at it... 10 cents is the fleamarket's price in Vancouver. And it is not silver. Poopalloy it is - to be polite.

Yes dustin, Russia made platinum coins for circulation and probably was the only country that managed to do so. If I am not wrong, Spain and France did attempt to mint coins in gold plated platinum but it wasn't a big success, nor was Russia although it did mint platinum coins from 1828-45.

you all missed the point here !

The seller knows that the coin is fake ! He specifies "silver" in purpose ! The coin listed IS MADE of silver. So, NONE will be able to blame the seller !

It's a shame for the beginners who get stung on such auctions.
It is sometimes hard for a beginner to tell the difference between real coins and semi good-very good fakes.
I bet quite a lot of beginners get stung on fleebay and then quit this great hobby.
Note to all novices. If a deal seems to good to be true, it probably is!
eBay just seems to be a money spinning monster. I think that if a few people complain about a particular auction they should pull the said auction.

The sad part of it - they just don't care. I now for sure that at least 7 complaints against this particular auction have been made and the crap is still on!

This is an obvious fraud. The police should be involved. Ether the auction was fake and somebody just laundering the money or forty or so mental patients just escaped from the institution.... What is more likely?
