This coin is a rare pattern. I don't have my references handy, so cannot comment on whether the asking price is in line with the current market or not.

But, working from memory alone, I can't recall seeing another one of these offered. Markov had a similar pattern in aluminum (except I think it was a 2 roubles). If memory is correct, it failed to make reserve and did not sell.

Please note that this is only meant as trial and is very very very scarce. You might be able to find some 1958 trial coins in circulation accidently released by the mint but never of the 1,2, 5 rubles (not too sure if there was a 3 ruble trial coin - can't remember it from the top of my head)

The whole set of trial (most later destroyed) coins of 1958 was sold for $30K at Moscow auction earlier this year.

But sure this is a bit over the current estimate (may be 2009 price?)
