Full Version: Neat! Army Good Conduct Medal With A Planchet Clip

hey gang! I have owned a bunch of these but have never seen one like this. This is an issued WWII vintage army good conduct medal with a small clip... these medals look like they are made like regular coins... then the ring is added later... explaining the clip...

Wow, I've never seen an error medal before. Nice snag Matt! (Just imagine being the bloke who got this medal, and what he thought about it being "damaged", haha!)

i didn't even see when i bought it in a large lot of military stuff.... it was later when i was going back through it that I found it... prob doesn't add much to the value... but it is neat

Like he said, the medal was struck just like a coin. So it's a clipped planchet, very neat.

I thought it was pretty neat.... I actually had one of those "hmmm thats neat" moments ill try to get a pic of the clipped areas in the morning

Yea thats cool.! Curious as to how much its worth? I picked up a few tokens at a yard sale,
they probably aren't worth much, but I thought they was neat anyhow.. Try to post a scan later..
