any idea what this was "before"?

Ok, so you all give up.. confused1.gif
.
its presented as a 1765 5 kopeck, with no mintmark. Not a common coin.

BUT
the eagle is of the later years type, which wasnt used until the 1780's
If you look at the where the mintmark is supposed to be, it looks messed with.
the last 2 digits of the date are obviously altered. Im just wondering what was the original date.
could have been a 1785.

worthless junk. but what really irks me is the seller is a supposed numismatist, so either they didnt catch it blink.gif or dont care that they are selling this junk mad.gif

Could it be that anyone can claim to be a numismatist, or are there "quacks" like in medicine?

Hi, I am not the buyer, but I happen to know him. I can tell you that the seller finally agreed to take the coin back. Chances are that it will be met again at eBay. Good luck bidding. yahoo.gif Sigi
