I recently won a lot of coins on eBay featuring 11 coins from Bermuda & 1 from Belize:

The odd thing about it is the year, 2002. Strange considering that I have seen Belize coins without a royal portrait from 1974.

Can anyone shed any light on this at all, I presume it's fake but I would rather someone verify so that I know for sure. The rest of the coins in the lot were definately real so it I think the seller didn't know if it turns out to be fake.

Any help greatly appreciated

What is off on these is the first portrait of QEII, but then other places used early portraits well beyond the norm too.

Went on to the Central Bank of Belize site:

In a nutshell the FM created a lot of NCLT, non circulating legal tender issues, that were sold to collectors during the 1970's and 1980's and they differed from the circulating coinage.

Thanks for clearing that up Scottishmoney. There was one from 1995 that had that design as well on eBay which is what made me think it was fake in the first place.

Odd that they still use that head design on the 1-50c but the Type 3 head on the dollar
