I picked up my first Russian coin today. It just caught my eye for some reason...

Date: 1778 AD
Obverse: Double-headed eagle of Imperial Russia, banner with Cyrillic legend
Reverse: Large wreath; inside initials of Catherine II The Great. 1778 on either side of initials surmounted by crown all in wreath
Size: 41.88 mm
Weight: 52.7 grams
Description: An huge, thick bronze with pattern stamped edges


...any good reference sites out there for stuff like this?

Well apparently it's not coming. The dealer just emailed me & even though it was still for sale on his site he'd just sold it on his other site. sad.gif

So I still don't own any Russian coins.
