BTW, I got an email from Germany filling me in about this piece. Evidently it is a Prize piece and not a commemorative as I had thought. There were two series, one prize set in 45mm out of gold, silver, bronze and then another set of the same metals but in the 35mm size. I've never seen another example of this design but the person in Germany claims that the design was used from 1883 up to 1930.
