Wrapper for the notes.

IPB Image

They were sold in this wrapper, probably for fundraising purposes and were not intended for circulation, similar in the manner that porcelain coins were made and sold but not intended for circulation.

Thanks to Dave for pointing out a dealer that had these in their inventory and for a very nominal price.

Very cool, don't see to many sets out there with the wrapper. The Donkey is great.

I just got into notgeld & love it. Working on scanning everything & putting it online now.

Hey!

Glad to see that you got the notgeld depicting the manure manufacturing process you've been looking for! There hasn't been too much innovation in this field since then - Butt, sometimes the old ways are the best ways!

Hehe, that is funny. The text on the "donkey note" says:

A donkey that shits ducats
We do not have in Paderborn
But there are enough donkeys in the world
Who buy our paper money.

The "ducat donkey" refers to a famous fairy tale (a wonder donkey that, errm, emits gold ducats). But as in English, Esel/donkey can also mean a stupid person. Ironic and neat. tongue.gif
