Actually that would be nice. There are some catalogue books that I have been looking for but online sellers don't have them.

But remember, you must be on this forum for 1 month and 25 posts before you can sell anything on this forum.

Welcome to coinpeople by the way.

OK. Thank u/

OK. I need your advise about this coin. Should I buy it? Is it genuine?

p911 what makes you think it's a fake?

How can it be a fake? It comes in a "this is no fake" plastic box! evilbanana.gif

It looks odd to me, but maybe it's the lighting from below that makes it look so strange?

the plastic box doesnt guarantee that it isnt fake/ so i see that the main difference between the high quality fake ruble 1834 and real coin are connected with the nose. if u compare nose u will see the differences

I guess the coin is ok .

This is just a scanner problem - incorrectly selected position of the coin. As a result, the shadow and toning are highlighted.

I think eBay coin is ok and I agree with Oldman about scanner. Could be everything of course but even this bad image shows some signs of authentic coin. I wondr however why ANACS, not NGC - more common these days.

I was joking, but the sad part of the joke is that this is the oldest fishing trick - any big seller in Molotok dealing with Russian coins or orders can get from time to time too-good-to-be-true offers or bids from strangers when 'big brothers' try to set up an illegal deal. This is not related (I truly hope!) to p911 offer but a bit of a warning from Moscow to you guys. Just reminding that whatever piece of a history older than 1957 you like in Molotok or any Russian forum - that is forbidden for export by the Russian law. Just be careful, stay alive, don't get caught.

I think I would rather buy outside Russia anyway because it seems to me that prices in Russia are even higher than they are here (at least auction prices). cry.gif

Perhaps because the coin looks cleaned and the owner or seller was afraid that PCGS or NGC wouldn't slab it?

ANACS normally slabs problem coins and adds "Cleaned" to the label, for example, if it was cleaned. They didn't do that with this coin, but the reverse fields look like someone scrubbed it a bit, IMHO. sad.gif Obverse looks better to me, except for the rim disturbance at 2 o'clock (which could be a manufacturing flaw and not a rim ding).

I have a coin slabbed by ANACS and I beleive it was cleaned. Unfortunately, there is no adds "Cleaned" on the slab.
