Trying for a vam convert. Just wondering have you checked if its a vam yet? Or here. There was a ton of 21 vams.
BigCanadianM
I just hi-res scanned the Morgan, I was getting nowhere looking at it w/o my magnifing glass.
Perhaps you could take a look at them for me? biggrin.gif hi.gif

Is there any premium for the 16 berry variety? I'm pretty sure I have that.
Mark Stilson
Majority of the vams don't fetch a premium. To me though they add a dimension to collecting morgans. A few of the ones listed in the redbook, hot 50, and top 100 do. There are some what can be id'ed by picture. (Tailbar, off center mint marks, or dates, etc.) Most of them you need in hand.

Iran it looks like.

1933 AD ~ 1351-2 in the Hijri calendar

Methinks the Morgan has a diecrack from the O in OF to the M and AMERICA
BigCanadianM
I somehow missed your reply Mark doh.gif
I don't see myself being able to get my hands on that many Morgans to check for Vams, nor having enough dough!
Thanks for the reply! smile.gif

I'm not really into Morgans but I understand that one of the fun items in that series is searching out vams even in the "silver bullion" circulated coins.

That '38 Merc looks cool!

Nice stuff! I always love the feel of old circs -- the years of oxidation seem to render a unique sort of feel to the skin.

I love junk bins. I truly wish there were a decent dealer nearby.

BigCanadianM
Junkbins=heaven!
I got a PO-1, clipped 1 cent with George III on it from the bin today! smile.gif
Why aren't your dealers decent?
BigCanadianM
Big show on the weekend...perhaps this thread will be re-birthed?

The only dealer in the area is a jewelry store that also has coins. Prices tend to be quite high and the offerings rather static. There's a nice dealer about 1.25 hour drive from here, but with my budget the cost of gas quickly outweighs the budget for coins. To top it off, they don't have a junk box.

BigCanadianM
sad.gif
That sucks!
maybe you should get in the biz! laugh.gif
BigCanadianM
Gah. What a bad show. High prices (19 bucks for a unremarkable ASE? Pfft), unfriendly dealers, money-hungry organizers. yuk.gif

Ok, so I buy my pass Saturday. I drop ~15 bucks (BIG SPENDER!!! For me anyways.) and go proof-crazy (Pics to come). I come back Sun, and the exact guy that I bought my pass from says it's no longer good. If like 'wtf' and confused as hell. He told me, about 5 times when I bought the pass, that it's valid for both days. So we start to 'discus' and my mom steps in. Half a second later, the other guy is there with the police officer that was at the coin show. At least now I can say I got kicked out of the casino! Greedy bastards. yuk.gif
