Great, more notes I have to add to my list of future acquisitions. 
great notes! i don't think i've ever seen breastfeeding on a banknote before. heheh...too many people would find that offensive if that were tried on modern currency. weirdos. i think it's more acceptable in the u.s. to show man-appealing cleavage in bikini's, lace, and small outfits. but attach a baby to the end like nature intended, and lots of people get angry!

Most banknotes depict everyday country life. I am sure it is a common sight in Romania in those days ( breastfeeding).

Did you know that 2 nd note here (1000 lei 1941-1945) was designated by Nicolae Grigorescu, the same who painted "??ranc? din Muscel" (Countrygirl from Muscel), Scottishmoney's avatar?

Now his portrait is on 10 new lei note, and before 2005 it was on 100.000 old lei.

Yes indeed, because I am very interested in fine art, and love the work of Nicolai Grigorescu. Romanian notes of the 1917-1947 era now are becoming a focus of my collection, thanks to the postings here.
If anyone has uncirculated 1920-1928 5 Lei, and also uncirculated 5 lei of 1952 Pls PM me, willing to trade or buy.
Romania issued this note with the currency issue in 1952, though this note is dated 1950. This note is P84.

this note was released in circulation in 1950 and circulated until january 1952 when it was replaced by other bancontes in the monetary reform
because te reevaluation vas 20/1 , it was replaced with the 1 leu note.
it only circulated in the period 1950-1952 jan, never released after this date

A matter of tastes and opinion. But girls from that part of the world are very very beautiful- I know it for a fact
here is another nice banknote. it saw issued for the first time in 1947 at the monetary reform. it was issued until 1950 jan.
