Sorry I missed commenting on this when it was posted... but that is a mighty fine coin. Beautiful!
Makes me want to begin another collecting line... as if I am not doing too many now. grin.gif

1761 Anyone??????
marianne
I keep mistaking this thread for the "Let's count backwards from..." one in the Asylum, and ignoring it. doh.gif

frank
Didn't someone say they had a 1760?
Vfox
That would be me, sorry I've been slacking lol.

EDIT: DOH! My bad, lol....it's been a hectic week, right before finals.

Here is a 1760 Lol.....it's hard to see, but the date is readable in hand.

gxseries
Vfox, you are 100 years too early! hysterical.gif
marianne
Not... enough... coffee. I just posted something 10 years too late and removed it... doh.gif
marianne
1759 West Friesland 2 stuivers.

I have a 1753, a 1752, a 1751 and several 1750's but not even one 1756.

I'll keep looking, I may have had a 1756 Dutch gold ducat that I photographed before I sold it. Does that count?

If we get to 1739 I have a pretty amazing duit to show off...
gpnyc
I have a 1756 for you. Image is on my home computer and I'm at work so I can't post right now.

1756:

I love the quote on it!! "It's Death to Counterfeit this bill." Right to the point!

1755 silver jeton, French clergy

1754 Polupoltinnik:
gpnyc
I'm done for now. Wake me up when you get to 1699!
hiho
I'll post a 1753 Swiss gold 1/4 ducat tomorrow.
And a 1752 14 Liard from Liege (Belgium) if I can find it.
After that I can offer a 1751 Netherlands Silver 10 Stuiver, then a 1750 Netherlands 14 Guilder Gold Rider.

Right now I am working to pay for this stuff... biggrin.gif
hiho
As promised:

The others are in the bank, so if anyone has a nice 1752 please be my guest.
thedeadpoint
Gorgeous, hiho. Hopefully you didn't buy this just for this thread!
hiho
No, I have had that for a few years.

Here's the 1752 Liege...

hiho
And the 1751 Netherlands 10 Stuiver from Holland...

hiho
And for the hat trick, a beautiful 1750 14G Dutch Gold Rider minted in red gold.
You really see the difference when placed next to a "normal" yellow gold rider.

One of my top 10 coins... grin.gif
frank
Awesome, just awesome. ohmy.gif
Art
Wonderful coins.
hiho
Thank you... yahoo.gif

I've nothing until 1745, but then can offer two beauties with that date, then two even nicer from 1743, then 1742, 1739, 1727, 1723, 1712, 1707, 1692, 1678 and a 1666 that is one of the highlights of my collection.

hiho
Over 4000 forum members, and no one has a 1749? shok.gif
marianne
We can't escape the Netherlands...

hiho
Beautiful coin, and as soon as we get to 1745, there will be more Netherlands.

There is no escape! shok.gif
gxseries
I'll have to post both since I wanted to show my polupoltinnik as well as this thread being a bit slow. grin.gif

1748 polushka

1747 polupoltinnik

hiho
A well struck Polupoltinnik in amazing condition too. yes.gif

I'll scan my 1745 Swiss Half Thaler (Zurich) in anticipation of someone producing a 1746.

After that I want to pre-register for 1743, as I have two coins from that date that I am very proud of.

If you have ever looked at one of your coins and thought "How it is possible that I was able to find something so rare and beautiful as this?",
well that applies to both my 1743's...grin.gif

The siege is beginning... slightly ahead of schedule. smile.gif

hiho
Very nice Dutch silver two stuiver Marianne... clapping.gif
I have one almost exactly like it from 1727.

Marching right along, here is a nice 1745 Swiss 1/2 Taler and my favorite "officially cleaned" coin. biggrin.gif

I'll be back at 1743 with two coins that definitely belong together.
ElleKitty
1744! Those Dutch yet again.

marianne
^^^ Another victim of the Dutch conspiracy!

And hiho should be along shortly with his two coins for 1743...
hiho
That was fast. Thank you ElleKitty for keeping with the Netherlands theme.

Here is a 1743 Netherlands ducat, I own several of these but only two in MS condition...

And my nicest Swiss Quarter Ducat, surely better than ANACS rates it...

hiho
And here's an oddball duit from Holland.

Just goes to show what you can do with a circulated Dutch coin, a jewelers file, two bottles of strong red wine and unlimited free time.
NO, it wasn't me. Really... unsure.gif

I'm out until 1739.
