My collection is pretty slim when it comes to 18th Century - 1763, 1767, 1772. Out of those, last 2 are Thalers and the first is a 5 Russian Kopecks.
Notes are allowed, as well, correct?

....1783 Spanish 8 Reales....from the shipwreck El Cazador in 1784....legend has it this shipment of bullion was to go to help fund the spanish territory of "Louisiana", but when the ship sank, the Spanish lost its stronghold, and later had to sell the land to France, who in turn sold it to us (USA) in 1803.....otherwise I might be speaking "Frenchy french" right now! (here in Oklahoma!!!)

I just lost out on a piece like that on ebay. About 2 weeks ago, I think. It would be a great coin to have.

Actually, Louis XV does look kind of funny in these portraits (besides looking like Richard Lewis). He looks a little puffy around the mouth... I wonder if he wore wooden dentures like Geo Washington, whose formal oil portraits by Stuart usually show the denture bulges...

I motion that if someone can post coins with certifiable dates that ADD to 1766, that counts.
Anyone have a 1765 dated coin and a year 1 dated coin?
