Now I am concerned what these are... I don't have them with me at the moment so I can't retake the photos or even take the photos of the edges.

Here are the scanned pictures:

Anyone else with any thoughts? confused1.gif

Unfortunately, the Borodino 1839 ruble is a candidate for the "fake" list.
Same can be said about the "circulated" Alexandrine's column. The "proof" Column looks ok to me.

Very best regards,
BKB
I do not like 1839. As to the others, I need better photos to form any sort of opinion. With these photos I would buy none of these coins.

If you make same quality pictures of edges like Kisehish did in his thread - that would be an easy talk.

Thanks everyone. hi.gif Really appericate it.

I honestly wished that I take the pictures of the edges wallbash.gif The coins are now overseas so there is nothing I can do except to get it sent over but that's going to be a major challenge as no one in my family ever knows how to handle coins, let's forget about packing them - that's going to be more than a challenge.

I do admit recently that the 1834 circ and the 1839 are too likely to be counterfeits after reviewing other coins in high resolution just last two weeks. However I'm not too sure about the proof. Chances of that being a counterfeit is too likely as rarely do such proof coins exist but again, I can't quite tell from the pictures alone.

As for those who are interested in knowing where I did get them, I think I got them from the following countries but again, that was four years ago and I may not remember right

1834 circ, US
1834 proof, Latvia
1839, Estonia - now that's a problematic region as there are some high quality counterfeits coming out from that country recently.

Hey gxseries -

This is interesting. Note the Borodino has short rays. Would others comment? I see more of these with longer rays and I have both. Usually you think of ray length as more of a factor with the 1.5 rouble Borodino. Thanks.
