hey gang! I picked up this guy today smile.gif Nice 3 legger... you can see the die flaws in the indians neck and on the back buffalos legs!

it really is... I was thinking about how some of the ones on the new buffalo nickels received some fun names... but this is the grandaddy. I like these coins because you can easily tell if they are real from the easily apparent die markers and the shape of the marks on the buffalos back legs... and the basically perfect placement of the mintmark

This coin is the 2nd one I became fascinated with in my early years of collecting (think 6-8 years old). Always found the 3 Legged Buffalo such a cool coin.

I WILL own one someday, not any day soon though. sad.gif

That was the first coin I realized that it was "special". Special as in being expensive and rare. It still is up there 15 years later. laugh.gif

Really nice coin. I've got a few of them and none that nice. Now the nosey question. How much? Where did you get it? Was it in a slab?
