just got this guy back from NGC today... these are very rare... it is paper thin and split off the planchet before it was struck...

Wow! I can only imagine what it is like to hold one. Just thinking of the chances of those events happening AND a collector finding it AND it remaining in such good condition unsplit is mind-boggling!

Definately a neat and very rare item.

TDP - I'm sure such an error would actually have a high chance of reaching a dealer or collector since it's so thin (and with so little detail) it would had been difficult to not notice it, and would had been difficult to pass off since it doesn't remotely look like a "normal" quarter.
