Full Version: 1954 nickel struck through struck scrap.

hey guys and gals... was going through nickels today and I found this pup... looks like a little strike through until you get close and you can clearly make out "D W" of "god we" brockaged from the obverse.... from my best guess... this coin results from another coin struck on some sort of defective planchet that came apart... this little piece of struck scrap then found it's way onto this nickel and was struck into the reverse before falling away.

Is the other side undamaged? Just to be sure it hasn't been manupulated.

If it's ok, then you have a great find there.

Wow. If I had a disposable income, I'd take that off your hands and catch the error bug that Jos has.
