Here is another 5zl coin on EBay and it looks to have the standard heavy wear.
It seems most of the portrait coins of this era of either gold or silver just did not wear well.
Is it a matter of a poor strike? Weak dies or what was going on?
The only coin i have seen of this kind of any quality was on Heritage at AU 50 and it went for $650. Prices for about any gold of the era are in the thousands. Seeing coins of this level of wear seems the norm.
What are thoughts on this humbe coinage, certainly a less glitzy topic than the preceeding post.
Note: A fun coin to me is the 1.5 rouble for Poland of this era. Big, historic and not real expensive.
